From Mechanical Supervisor to Counter-Strategist — My Story So Far

My name is Ankit Singh and I am a Digital Marketing Manager who is located in New Delhi, having experience of more than six years in core digital marketing and over four years in consulting and liaison activities. I specialize
I run this blog as a live lab for all the things about which I write when carrying out competitive intelligence based on SEO, GEO, AEO, and OSINT.I began my career not in marketing; I obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University in Lucknow, and my first job after graduating was as a Mechanical Supervisor at Trident Flexible Pvt. Ltd., where I prepared technical workflow reports and inter-departmental documentation.

In 2014 I deliberately changed direction: even though I was still employed, I funded the course myself and finished the certifications with Google, HubSpot, and Meta in order to enter the field of digital marketing. By 2016 I had turned my self-taught knowledge into clients who paid me and had my consultancy running full-time.
From that time on, the company has accumulated advertising spending in the eight-figure range, worked with 15 or more clients including individual public personalities, and has carried out campaigns in the areas of politics, the public sector, B2C, and manufacturing.

I have now developed four tools that put this idea into action: CounterForge evaluates content based on the AEO/GEO/AIO ranking factors, RankForce GEO is a 12-agent system that automates AI-search audits, LinkRecon identifies opportunities for broken-link outreach, and Review Radar detects fake Google reviews by using linguistic analysis. These tools are not side initiatives—they form the infrastructure through which I carry out my client work. This demonstrates that “Counter-Strategist” is a method, not merely a title.

What "Counter-Strategist" Means

While most marketers restrict themselves to running campaigns, I include competitor intelligence and the formulation of counter strategies in every single engagement by using the basic principles of OSINT to keep up with what our competitors are actually doing, to monitor brand reputation, and to guard client accounts against impersonation and coordinated inauthentic behaviour. Far from being an additional aspect of my marketing work, this approach is central to the way I handle each account.

What I Actually Use

I don’t merely run campaigns; I build a case. The tools such as GA4, Search Console, GTM, and Looker Studio keep records of all activity; SEMrush and Google Trends identify the moves that competitors believe no one is noticing. Python converts the raw data from campaigns into evidence rather than just producing charts. On the OSINT side, Google Dorking, BigSpy, the Wayback Machine, and WHOIS lookups are used to plot out the digital footprint prior to any recommendation being made. Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity carry out the AI-assisted research work beneath all of this. All of these tools serve a single purpose: to find out what is actually happening, not what the dashboard would have you think.
